regor Schneider (German, b.1969) was born in Rheydt, Germany. He had his first art show in 1985, when he was 16, at Galerie Kontrast in Stockholm, Sweden. He went on to attend multiple art institutions between 1989 and 1992, including the Art Academy of Düsseldorf and the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, Germany. From 1999 to 2003, he was a professor at De Ateliers in Amsterdam, the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg, and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Schneider’s work revolves around the reconstruction of rooms and other architectural spaces, which is epitomized in his Haus u r, where he redesigned the interior of a house in Rheydt, Germany.
